The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) is a government scheme designed to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce carbon emissions. ECO is an obligation placed on energy companies to deliver energy efficiency measures to domestic premises.
The ECO4 scheme is the final part of an ongoing government initiated scheme to support low-income households and to create more energy efficient homes and reach carbon neutral goals for the UK. It is intended to run until March 2026.
Waltham Forest Council is working with EDF and the chosen installer Golden Globe Merchants Ltd, to ensure that homes in the borough are upgraded to high energy standards. ECO4 funding is targeted to homes that currently have low or poor energy efficiency and are at band E or below on the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The ECO4 Scheme aims to provide funded energy-saving measures for vulnerable households.
